Hunter education comes first
Born after 1965, you need the basic hunter education course before Utah will sell you a license — and the online option still ends in an in-person field day.

Hunting and combination licenses
The license is the ticket to hunt; every big-game animal below still needs its own permit on top. A combination license adds fishing.
